“Any issues are sorted quickly and the whole printer leasing process has been seamless.”

Alana McDermaid, Google review of Global Document Solutions, who operate this service.

Global Document Solutions runs managed print for Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo branches on the agreement a Sydney office holds.

One road west, and one agreement along all of it

One agreement following the road west from Sydney to every Central West branch A plan of the Central West of New South Wales with each town at its true position. One accent road runs from a Sydney office west across the Blue Mountains to Bathurst, about 200 kilometres, then on to Orange and north west to Dubbo, with a branch road from Lithgow north to Mudgee. The road is labelled one agreement. Offices stand at Sydney with five printers, Bathurst with three, Orange and Dubbo with two each, and Mudgee with one. Under each office a block of pages is sized by what that office prints, so every branch keeps its own plan on the one agreement. Blue Mountains One agreement 200 km Lithgow Sydney Bathurst Orange Dubbo Mudgee
The agreement follows the highway to every branch. Each office keeps a page plan of its own.

According to Wikipedia, the Great Western Highway runs about 200 kilometres from Sydney to Bathurst.

It crosses the Blue Mountains on the way.

Past that crossing, a group can end up with a second printer supplier.

Then a third in Dubbo.

What does managed print mean for a Central West branch?

Managed print services in the Central West puts each branch, from Bathurst out to Dubbo, on the agreement your Sydney office uses.

Every branch gets a printer chosen for its own workload.

Each printer runs on a monthly plan, and every office gets a page report.

A group paying out separate leases can check how a branch lease compares with a managed plan.

Sydney to Dubbo

One agreement, one invoice, one number to ring.

Every branch is still scoped apart.

A five printer office in Sydney and a one printer office in Mudgee get different plans.

Both are on the one agreement.

Central West towns a branch list can carry

Every address in the region is serviced, and these towns are named as examples only.

Along the Mitchell Highway

Bathurst, where the Great Western Highway ends.

Orange, the next city west.

Wellington, then Dubbo on the plains to the north west.

Off the main road

Lithgow at the western foot of the mountains, and Mudgee to its north west.

Blayney and Cowra to the south west, and Parkes and Forbes further out.

A Sydney head office belongs on the list too, and so does a CBD office planned alongside the branches.

A branch town not shown

Name it on the form.

Inland addresses are serviced the same way.

Where the highway forks, and why that matters to a branch

According to Wikipedia, the Mitchell Highway starts at Bathurst and runs on through Orange and Dubbo.

According to the same article, it runs about 1,095 kilometres in all.

Bathurst is the junction, and a branch network can grow outward from it.

Each town added means another printer and another bill.

On one agreement it is simply another line on the same invoice.

A coast office at Port Macquarie or Taree becomes one more line as well.

Inland towns count as regional, so a visit is generally the next business day.

That is how GDS runs it, never a written term.

A branch printing 2,000 mono pages a month fits the Starter plan, whether it is in Lithgow or Dubbo.

From $160 + GST a month per printer.

Standard plans, tailored to your fleet. Excess page rates are stated in your quote and are normally the same at every location.

Paper, staples and pages above your agreed volume sit outside that figure.

A branch printer stops: who handles it

Every call comes to us first.

Who fixes a printer in Orange or Dubbo, and how fast?

The technician

We arrange an authorised dealer or the manufacturer for every visit.

Mudgee is handled exactly as Bathurst is.

The dealer never invoices your branch.

The branch only has to say which printer stopped.

The visit leaves its plan alone.

Nobody at the branch has to go looking for a repairer.

The wait

West of the mountains, generally the next business day.

For the Sydney office, the wait is generally under 4 hours.

GDS treats both as process, not contract terms.

An office manager in Dubbo rings the number head office rings.

We log the fault and book the visit, then follow it until the printer is back.

Why an Orange clinic and a Dubbo depot need different printers

A council office, a clinic and a mining contractor print in very different ways.

What each branch should send us
Per branchWhy we ask
This month's page countIt picks one of the 3 plans
Any colour printingIt decides on colour pages
Staff on the printerIt sets the speed and paper capacity
Confidential printingIt shows if jobs should wait at the printer for staff
When the lease runs outIt dates that branch's move
Monthly pages in each plan
PlanPages a month
Starter2,000 black and white
Professional2,000 black and white, 200 colour
Enterprise5,000 black and white, 500 colour

Plans are tailored per branch, and the quote names any rate for extra pages.

GDS says excess page rates are normally the same at every location.

Bringing the branches across

Costed branch by branch

Each office gets its own cost review first.

You see every branch before you agree.

One town at a time

Branches move across over months, each one as its lease ends.

A branch opened later joins this agreement, and the monthly total changes with it.

Printers you own outright stay off it.

Extras you choose

Staff can collect prints with a card or code on PaperCut, an optional extra.

A print server is the computer that queues jobs. Going without one is optional too.

That suits Microsoft 365 branches as well.

A paid option wipes a printer's memory when the agreement finishes.

What Central West groups ask before they ring

Can our Bathurst and Orange branches share an agreement with Sydney?

Yes. Every branch joins the agreement Sydney uses.

Each printer keeps a monthly plan of its own.

A single invoice shows each branch and its own page report.

How soon does a technician get to a Dubbo branch?

Generally the next business day, as Dubbo counts as regional.

A Sydney office generally waits under 4 hours.

GDS states this as its process, not a contract term.

Who comes out to a Mudgee or Lithgow office?

An authorised dealer or the manufacturer, booked by us.

Your branch rings us, never the dealer.

Billing stays between your group and us.

What decides the monthly figure for a branch printer?

Chiefly how many pages it prints, and how many of those are colour.

The plan covers toner, the parts and each service visit.

The quote names any extra page rate, normally the same in each town.

Can a Parkes or Cowra branch be added later?

Yes. A new branch joins the same agreement when it opens.

Your monthly total grows to cover it.

Its finish date can hold or be pushed out.
