Next business day attendance: a commitment we make, not a measured result.

Every Victorian site is attended by the same service company

The interstate sites are folded into the same rates.

Victoria is covered by our sister service company.

Every Victorian address carries the same next business day attendance.

Written for organisations with a Melbourne head office and offices elsewhere.

In this city that usually means somewhere past the ring road.

What a Victorian fleet is billed per page

Said once, before anything else

The technician who attends a Melbourne site works for our sister service company.

We dispatch, manage and pay that company.

The agreement is ours.

The rates are ours.

The reporting is ours.

The van belongs to that service company, here and in every other state.

We put it this way to a Melbourne operations manager last month: “You are our client.

The person carrying the toolkit works for our service company, and the same one covers every address you have.”

Last updated 5 September 2026.

How thick is the cover at each of your Victorian addresses

Every address gets the same written commitment.

What varies is how many of that company’s technicians sit within reach.

In the middle ring we usually hold 3 or more, and on the Peninsula we hold 1.

Managed print solutions in Melbourne is another supplier’s word for the agreement described here.

Melbourne technician depth by ring, from the CBD out to the Peninsula The CBD and inner north sit at the centre with three or more technicians nearby. The inner east, south east and west ring around it is well served. Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula sit on the outside with usually one within reach. Every address carries the same attendance commitment. SAME COMMITMENT, DIFFERENT DEPTH Frankston and the Peninsula usually 1 technician Inner east and the west well served CBD and inner north 3 or more nearby
Geelong and Ballarat sit outside this drawing and are covered as well as the middle ring is. Bendigo and Sale rest on a single technician each, so they behave like the outer band rather than like regional Victoria as a whole.
  • CBD and inner north

Carlton, Fitzroy, Collingwood, Docklands and Southbank.

The densest technician coverage outside Queensland, with several able to take a job.

    Victoria
  • Inner east and south east

Hawthorn, Camberwell, Box Hill, Glen Waverley and Clayton.

    Well served.

This is where most multi site head offices in Melbourne actually sit.

    Victoria
  • West and north west

Footscray, Sunshine, Werribee, Craigieburn and the industrial estates around them.

Good cover, and warehouse sites here print more than anyone expects.

    Victoria
  • Frankston and the Peninsula

    Frankston, Seaford, Mornington and Rosebud.

    Thinner than the middle ring.

Usually one technician within reach rather than several, which we treat as a named risk.

  • Regional Victoria

Geelong and Ballarat are well covered.

Bendigo and Sale rest on a single technician each, and we will tell you which of your sites those are.

If the fleet reaches Brisbane, Ipswich or the Gold Coast, those addresses sit closest to the office that manages the work.

What happens when a device fails at a Frankston branch

We are asked this about Frankston more than anywhere else in Victoria.

It is far enough out that people expect the answer to change.

It does not.

  1. 1

    Logged at any hour

By the branch, by head office, or by the device itself

  2. 2

    Same queue as the CBD

Frankston does not sit in a different, slower list

  3. 3

    Service company dispatched

Our sister service company, tasked and tracked by us

  4. 4

    On site next business day

The same commitment as every other address on the agreement

  5. 5

    Branch closes it

Not us, and not the technician.

The site says when it is fixed

The honest caveat sits at step three. On the Peninsula there is usually one technician within reach rather than three, so there is less slack behind the commitment than there is in Camberwell. We would rather name that than let you find it during a bad week.
Said once, so it cannot be missed

Attendance does not vary by postcode, by distance from the CBD, or by the size of the site.

It is next business day at every address on the agreement.

The full wording including what is not promised sits on the managed print page.

A technician’s hand resting on the front panel of a Kyocera multifunction printer, the touchscreen lit beside it
A fault at an outer ring branch is answered at the machine, by the same service company that answers one in the city.

From $160 + GST a month per device.

Volume is pooled across every site, so a larger fleet prices into a lower band.

Paper, staples and pages above your agreed volume sit outside that figure.

What actually changes when a site is over the border

Less than most suppliers imply, and on this agreement nothing at all.

Here is the whole list, and every one of the 6 rows is identical.

Every line people expect to differ between a Victorian address and a Queensland one.

Who employs the technicianOur sister service companyOur sister service company
Who runs the agreementThe Bethania workshopThe Bethania workshop

All six of those rows are identical, which is why the table is printed rather than described.

The Queensland side of that comparison is set out on the Brisbane page.

Why a Melbourne fleet is usually two fleets

A dense middle ring with several technicians behind it, and a scattered outer edge that usually rests on one.

The split is not really about geography, it is about who bought the machines.

The city fleet was specified against a floor plan and signed off by somebody holding a budget.

The outer fleet was bought one device at a time, by whoever noticed the last one had stopped.

One of them has meters that get read and a report somebody looks at each month.

The other has toner arriving on a card and no record of what it prints.

Nobody can describe that half of the print environment, let alone reduce what it costs.

Analysis from a first fleet audit almost always shows the second group carrying the larger volume.

That is the number a Melbourne buyer has never been shown.

It is also the number that decides which rate band the whole fleet lands in.

Nothing about what either group prints has to change for that to happen.

A well run head office

A serious multifunction device in the CBD or the inner east.

It carries the scanning and the document management for that floor as well.

On a proper agreement, reported on monthly.

Somebody owns it.

It works.

It is the part of the fleet everyone can describe, and it is rarely where the money is going.

A head office device is chosen for volume, so it runs at a low cost per page by design.

It has four paper sources, a finisher and a service history somebody can produce.

Its meter is read every month and the reading is checked against the invoice.

Print volumes, colour ratios and downtime are all visible for that one device.

None of that is true of the devices at the outer sites.

Which is why fixing the head office contract on its own rarely moves the total.

It is the site everybody looks at, and it is already close to the best rate it can reach on its own.

The remaining saving sits at the addresses nobody has counted.

And a fleet nobody owns

Desktop units at the outer sites, bought locally.

Toner arrives on somebody’s card and there has been no meter read in years.

Across 6 or 8 Victorian sites that second group is often the larger volume.

The CopierChoice Australia Printer and Copier Cost Benchmark Report 2025 is the source.

It puts bundled mono at 1.2 to 3.5 cents a page.

Retail cartridge printing at a small branch regularly costs more than that.

A cartridge bought at a retailer covers a few thousand pages and is paid for at full retail.

The same pages inside a per page rate carry the device, the servicing and the parts with them.

Across 8 Victorian sites over a 3 year term the gap is rarely small.

It is also spread across enough expense claims that nobody ever sees it in one place.

An MPS agreement puts both halves of the printer fleet on one report.

Pooling it is what moves the rate band

What Melbourne buyers ask about the outer ring

Do you have your own technicians in Melbourne?

No, and Victoria is no different from any other state.

Every Melbourne and Victorian address is attended by our sister service company.

We dispatch that firm, manage the job and pay it.

Queensland addresses are attended in that way too.

The agreement, the rates, the ticket queue and the reporting are ours.

Secure print release and print security rules are set once and reach every Victorian site.

The next business day commitment applies at every address we cover.

That one company covers every address in Australia, so a Victorian site is attended like a Queensland one.

What changes between areas is how many of its technicians sit within reach, never whether anybody attends.

Across the middle ring we usually hold 3 or more, and on the Peninsula it is closer to 1.

According to the depth of cover we publish on the service areas page, that pattern repeats in every state.

The next business day term is written into your agreement rather than quoted as an average.

What happens when a printer fails at a Frankston office?

The fault is logged at any hour by the branch, by head office or by the device.

It enters the same queue as a CBD site, not a slower one.

Our sister service company is dispatched and tracked by us.

A technician is on site the next business day.

The honest caveat is that we usually hold one technician within reach on the Peninsula rather than three.

There is less slack behind the commitment there than in the middle ring.

Frankston sits in the thinner band, which means one technician within reach rather than several.

That is felt on a week with two faults in the same area, not on an ordinary one.

We name which of your addresses sit in that band at the quote rather than after the first breakdown.

Data from your own meter reads decides the replacement device, so a branch is not given a machine specified for head office.

Which parts of Victoria are covered?

The CBD and inner north, the inner east and the south east.

The west and north west, then Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.

Regional Victoria including Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and Sale.

Cover is densest through the inner and middle ring and thinner past it.

Bendigo and Sale rest on a single operator each.

We name which of your sites those are before you sign.

Every Victorian address is covered on the same terms. The areas named here are examples, not the edge of the service.

Geelong and Ballarat carry cover comparable to the middle ring.

Bendigo and Sale rest on a single technician each, so they behave like the outer band.

A count here names examples only, never the limit of what is covered.

Send the addresses and each one is confirmed in writing before you sign anything.

Tell us about the Victorian sites, and the rest

Name the outer sites as well as the CBD one.

Those are usually where the volume hides.

You get back a written scope.

It names the device we would put at each address, and the rate at your pooled volume.
